Colorado Springs, CO – February 22, 2012 – Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD) announced today that it has received a $25,000 Daniels Fund grant to support family services for the Colorado Preschool Program.

The Colorado Preschool Program is offered to children 3 to 5 years of age. Families of these children receive education and support to assist them in fulfilling their role as their children’s first and best teacher. CPCD currently serves 671 children and families in the Colorado Preschool Program.

“Through classes, activities and home visits focused on parenting skills and engagement, the grant will help provide our children with safe, nurturing and learning-rich home environments,” said CPCD CEO Noreen Landis-Tyson. “This will help foster school readiness and future success in school and in their lives beyond formal education.”

Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need, established the Daniels Fund to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. For more information, please visit www.danielsfund.org.

CPCD received three additional grants in January 2012 to support the Colorado Preschool Program, including $10,000 through the Deluxe Corporation Foundation; $5,500 by the Colorado Springs Utilities Community Focus Fund; and $5,000 through the Ester M & Freeman E. Everett Charitable Trust of the Pikes Peak Foundation.
