Office Depot to Donate 100 Children's

Colorado Springs, Colo. – May 24, 2010 – Community Partnership for Child Development is one of three non-profit organizations that will receive 100 new children’s backpacks from Office Depot when the company opens its new store Tuesday, May 25 at 2 p.m. The Griffith Centers for Children Inc. and the Boys and Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region were also selected to receive backpacks. Each organization will also receive a donation of $100 each.
CPCD President and CEO Noreen Landis-Tyson will accept the donation during a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the new store.
The backpack donations are part of the Office Depot Foundation’s award-winning National Backpack Program. The company will donate 300,000 new backpacks this year to children. After this year, Office Depot will have given away more than 2.3 million backpacks since the program began in 2001.
The new Office Depot store is located at: 3640 Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, Colo.

CPCD is a nonprofit organization that provides free comprehensive early childhood development and family programs for families with children prenatal through age five. CPCD currently serves more than 1,900 children each year through Early Head Start, Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Program.
