Benefits

Employee benefits are a critical piece of the puzzle that assists in ensuring employee happiness and longevity with our agency.  Full-Time employees are employees who are hired  at a regular status to work a minimum of 25 hours per week. We offer one of the most competitive vacation and paid time off schedules in El Paso County.

 

Holiday and Break Time

All employees, part time and full time, receive the following days off, paid:

 

  • Labor Day

  • Independence Day

  • Thanksgiving Week

  • Winter Break (2 weeks)

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • President’s Day

  • Spring Break (1 week)

  • Memorial Day

  • Juneteenth

 

Paid Time Off

In addition to four weeks off for school breaks per year, eligible employees receive paid time off to use as they see fit.  Whether it’s to enjoy a long weekend or taking some extra time off for a vacation, paid time off is there so that eligible employees can enjoy their time off with pay.

 

Sick Time

Full time employees are eligible for sick time that begins accruing on the first day of employment.  Sick time may be used in the event of the employee’s personal illness or the need to stay home to take care of immediate family member who is ill.

 

Health Benefits

CPCD offers a wide variety of benefit options for employees and their families.  Whether coverage is needed for just the employee or their entire family, CPCD’s benefits are there to meet the individual needs of their employees.

 

Medical

CPCD’s medical plan utilizes a large network of doctors, hospitals and other caregivers who have agreed to provide services at discounted rates.  If you use the network, you will receive the highest level of benefits offered by the plan at the lowest cost to you.  Employees and CPCD share the cost of these optional benefits.

 

Dental

Staying healthy includes obtaining quality dental care for you and your family.  CPCD’s dental plan allows you to use an extensive network of providers and offers flexibility based upon where you choose to access care.  Employees and CPCD share the cost of these optional benefits.

 

Vision

Vision coverage is offered in order to help you pay for routine vision services and supplies.  Employees are able to see any vision provider they choose, but you will enjoy significant savings when you use our offered vision provider.

 

Employer Paid Benefits

The following Employer Paid Benefits are paid on behalf of the employee as a thank you for their hard work and dedication to CPCD.  Employees who are classified as “Full Time” and work a minimum of 25 hours per week will receive the following benefits at no cost to them.

 

Basic Life and AD&D

The loss of a loved one is extremely difficult and that is why CPCD provides full time employees with group life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to them.  This benefit provides 1.5x annual salary up to a maximum of $150,000 to the designated beneficiary. 

 

Long Term Disability

LTD Benefits may be paid to an employee if they meet the plan’s definition of disability and loss of income requirements for the required time period.  CPCD pays this benefit on behalf of their employees.

 

Additional Benefits

In addition to our long list of employee benefits CPCD also offers an array of additional benefits that employee’s may choose to participate in.

 

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

A FSA allows individuals to use pre-tax dollars for health care or child/dependent care expenses not covered by insurance plans.  Participants contribute a portion of their paychecks to a FSA and save 25% to 40% in taxes.  Money in a FSA can be used to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses or dependent care expenses.

 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The mission of the EAP is to contribute to a healthier work environment by assisting individuals and families with personal problems and by consulting with management and supervisors around individual and group concerns within the workplace.  Experienced and professional staff are available to resolve a broad range of personal, work, family, and relationship problems.  All staff and their immediate family are eligible for up to 6 visits per calendar year at no cost to you and it is 100% confidential!

 

Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance covers tuition costs, books and fees up to certain limits to cover job related courses. Employees may also be eligible for scholarships and loan forgiveness opportunities as an additional benefit of working for a Head Start program.

 

401(K) and Profit Sharing

Employees can start saving for retirement by electing to contribute to our 401(k) program with either pre or post tax dollars.  In addition, eligible employees may receive discretionary profit sharing contributions from CPCD.
